Title: Of Youth and Beginnings
Pairing: Slight Aiba/Jun, but just as easily could be general Arashi love.
Rating: G
Summary: Aiba is more then a little sentimental.

Aiba has a small pink phone charm on his mobile. It's sort of girlie and horrendously out of place on a phone belonging to a 26 year old man, but it's one of Aiba's little treasures. Something he always makes sure is in his general vicinity, whether that's at the bottom of his bag or stuffed into his pocket.

Around the time they debuted the five of them went out to an arcade, deciding to experience youth one last time before being properly thrust into the life of an idol. It was a little run down place near Aiba's home and somewhere he frequently visited when he was a kid. Sho and Ohno paired up to play a shooting game, whilst immediately Nino wandered off to challenge a younger boy on a fighting game.

Relatively uninterested in watching Nino make a small boy cry, Aiba headed straight for the UFO catchers and other claw type machines. He pressed his face up against the glass, peering in at the small toys. His eyes soon zeroed in on something. A small cat phone charm was calling out to him. Bubble gum pink with a heart on it's stomach and a paw up by it's face. He jumped up and down on the tips of his toes as he excitedly dug around deep in his pockets for any spare change.

What he didn't realise was that the baby of the group was looking on with interest. Finding Aiba's display of absolute fail completely endearing, despite himself being the youngest of them all. Watching him fumble with the money and dropping it to the floor only for him to not succeed in grabbing the capsule when he finally managed to insert his money into the machine.

When Aiba began to whine softly to himself after many failed attempts, Jun stepped forward with a determined face and promised Aiba he'd win the charm. Aiba's scrawny knight in t-shirt and jeans. After using up all the change he had, and half of what Ohno had, he proudly handed the prize over to Aiba, despite it ending up costing ten times as one you could buy in any store. It's not in Jun's nature to give up. Of course Nino absolutely tortured Jun afterwards for doing something so akin to what a high school student would do for his girlfriend.

As well as being a precious present from Jun, for Aiba it also symbolizes the start of Arashi. A time when none of them knew what the future held, but were all so excited to find out. It may be a little silly to treasure something so small and childish. But then again, they were all forced to grow up so fast it doesn't seem so insignificant in Aiba's mind. Now being 26 years old, he has plenty of bigger and more expensive things that his band mates have given to him over them years but Aiba considers the phone charm to be just as expensive. Priceless even.

Jun always moans when he sees Aiba still has it dangling from his phone, looking a little worse for wear after 10 years. The cats whiskers having been rubbed off ages ago and the small heart on it's stomach no longer glowing when you press the button underneath. But Jun's protests are not very convincing when they are accompanied with a small smile and a light pink tinting his cheeks. It makes Aiba remember that the cute little Jun is still in there. He may have grown up, but he's still just as determined and loving as ever. Maybe even more so. Even though he doesn't look as dorky and awkward, with goofy teeth and dyed hair.

Aiba can confidently say that if he wanted something that badly now, like when he wanted that phone charm, Jun would probably give in to him still. Making him swear not to tell Nino on pain of death. Jun doesn't really have much restraint when it comes to his bandmates. Seeing them in need or flustered pulls at his heart strings. He still wants to please them and for them to be happy despite what he says. The change into adult hood as been good to Jun, good to all of them. It makes Aiba so ridiculously happy to see what they have all grown into and what they've accomplished. Because whilst they all have matured in different ways, what made them special is still intact.

Whilst he would love all of them to go back to that run down arcade and forget about everything for a day, despite it being a fleeting memory that he doubts any of the other guys remember. He doubts they remember the ice creams they got afterwards that made Sho's teeth hurt or how Ohno pointed out that the arcade smelt faintly of strawberries and a toilet, much to his horror. He scrunches up his nose and giggles to himself, Aiba can still smell that horrible scent.

But Jun remembers, and that's just something else that bonds them together. So that little charm will always be on whatever phone he has, even 20 years into the future when he can't comprehend what the five of them will be doing. But as long as he's with Jun and the others, it doesn't really matter.

Title: Razor
Pairing: Ryo/Shige
Rating: PG
Summary: It takes one little object to make Shige realise what he has with Ryo.

Shige never really dwells on his and Ryo's relationship. It just is and that's good enough for him. He's happy, deliriously so, and almost doesn't want to jinx it by thinking too much about the future. So he just takes each day as they come, loosing himself in his partner. Everything has seemed to fall into place and life, generally speaking, is a breeze.

But Shige considers himself an intelligent man, someone who can read other people well and act with compassion, ultimately always making the right decision in any given situation. He never kids himself into thinking there will be any longevity when he's in a relationship. If his partner doesn't want to be with him, well there's nothing he can do about that. The last thing he would want, would be for them to be unhappy. Generally, Shige is quite unselfish in that sense. Always putting others first, taking himself completely out of the equation. That's why he's being as selfish with Ryo as he can. Because who knows if he'll suddenly get bored one day and want to move on. If that's what he wants, Shige can confidently say he'd let him do so. It's not about fighting to keep something amazing, if your partner doesn't love you then that can't be helped. So for now Shige's being selfish, having every part of Ryo to himself.

But everything seems to really hit him for the first time when he sees Ryo's razor laying on the counter just below the mirror in his bathroom. Shige stares at it, his hair dripping water down his chest, his breath caught in his throat.

It's funny how that really gets him. Especially seeing as Ryo's clothes are already lying around the house, his favourite food is in the fridge and his CD's are all mixed in with Shige's own. Shige can't think of a time when those bits and pieces weren't strewn around his home. Though really it's not unusual to see a jacket Yamapi left a couple of nights ago draped over the sofa, or a mountain of books that belong to Koyama which have been piling up over the years. Maybe that's why seeing something of Ryo's has never bothered him, because he's had a spare pair of his boxers in his closet even before he realised he was in love with the other man anyway.

But the razor for some reason really makes the intensity of their relationship seem real, which really is kind of stupid considering it's a razor. It makes Shige realise for the first time that Ryo is in this for the long haul. Is expecting to be round every day and to wake up in Shige's bed every morning. It's a necessity. Unlike the other possessions that Ryo has left, which are really only there to make himself feel more comfortable or have been left without any thought. The razor is there because he needs it. And that's a totally new thought in Shige's mind. He wants to be here, so he needs it. He's slowly combining important parts of his life with Shige's own.

It doesn't freak Shige out. He doesn't start suddenly worrying about where they will be 5 years, 10 years, down the line but it does wake up something inside him. Opens his eyes wider then they've ever been. He realises that being with Ryo has heightened every little bit of his life. Work isn't just good, it's fun and amazing. His apartment isn't just a roof over his head, but somewhere he loves coming back to at the end of the day. He even feels closer to his friends as he's unconsciously allowed himself to become more open. All because of Ryo. No, he doesn't start worrying about the future of his and Ryo's relationship. For the first time he can actually imagine one. And maybe, just maybe, he's ready to fight for it if anything happens.

Shige remembers hearing that it's seeing your partners tooth brush next to your own that can cement the seriousness of a relationship. He's never understood how something so small can affirm something so big. Now he sort of gets it, which pisses him off as he's always dismissed such ridiculous relationship nonsense that you usually find in magazines for teenage girls.

Maybe he's not as intelligent as he thought if something like Ryo's razor has made all of this apparent to him. When Ryo pulling Shige into his body and wrapping his jacket round the both of them in a cold practice room didn't make him realise. Those nights spent together, filled with laughter, watching films on mute and making up false dialogue didn't even hint to him. Or the good night text messages he gets from Ryo when he's away working with Kanjani8 failed to open his eyes. Yes, maybe he isn't as intelligent as he once thought. He can hardly bring himself to care.

Shige dries his hair with a towel as he walks back into his bedroom, his face warm and stomach full of butterflies. Shige doesn't think he's ever felt more in love then he does right now. He stops at the foot of his bed and stares at the prone figure amongst the messy sheets. Cover down to his hips and a leg sticking out. Shige takes that back, he's never been more in love then when he looks at Ryo.

A few un-beta'd drabbles/short one-shots/call them what you will that i've had lying around for a while.

One Mans hate for an inanimate Object

Yoko hates the lava lamp in Maru's room. It's so ridiculously cheesy and annoyingly pathetic in a 26 year old mans room. The light bulb takes ages to heat the wax and once it does start to bubble, it's so anti climatic. When it cools, the wax hardens into disturbing shapes that often resemble aliens or penises which really make Yoko uncomfortable. So much so that he has to throw a shirt over it whenever he's in the room alone. It's so pointless. It doesn't even light the room up well at all. Basking the bed side table in an dull orange glow, leaving the rest of the room dark. Maru says it sets the mood, Yoko says he has to squint when they're having sex.

He's contemplated throwing it out but never gets further then just thinking about it as he's quickly struck with guilt. He imagines a heart broken Maru in front of him, tears running down his face, eyes big and wide, “I hate you Yu-chan!” Even though Hina just whacked him across the head when he told him this, Yoko's still pretty sure that's exactly how things would play out. And no, he's not being melodramatic.

One time he did 'accidently' knocking it over, but the damn thing is indestructible or something because it just rolled along the floor and stopped at Yoko's feet. Mocking him.

He whines about it so much, going as far as mentioning it on recomen, that everyone's begun to tease him about it. It's just a lava lamp. Subaru starts threatening to buy him one for Christmas whilst Ryo tells him to just get over his strange obsession already.

Sometimes he does forget why he hates it. Those times when he sees Maru stretched out on the bed watching it, with dreamy eyes and a relaxed face. The slow rise and fall of the wax bubbles in the blue tinted liquid reflecting in his dark eyes. The annoying orange glow softening Maru's features and making him look even more gorgeous then usual.

When he sees Maru like that, he gives in. Sighing fondly, he lays down beside Maru and snuggles up against his back. He watches it silently with him. If it can get Maru to look like that, then Yoko supposes it isn't all bad. It's still tacky though.

My Star

“Yasuda-kun!” Hearing his name being bellowed out, Yasu turns around to see Massu running up to him. He smiles widely as the man stops in front of him, not even slightly out of breath after practically hurtling himself down the corridor.

“Hi Massu-kun, how are you?” Yasu always regrets that his talks with the smiley News member are always so brief, as well as being few and far between. Massu has such a youthful air about him without coming across as childish. He also oozes sincerity and energy that is just so completely charming. Yasu isn't afraid to admit being a little enamoured by him.

“I'm good thanks, I've actually got something for you,” He rifles around in the pockets of his trousers whilst Yasu looks on with interest.

With a small noise of success, the News member sticks out his hand and opens his fingers. A silver chain is curled up in the centre of his palm with a small pendant on the end. A green gem cut into the shape of a star. Yasu looks back up to Massu, a quizzical expression on his face. It's not his birthday or anything. And even if it was, he doubts Massu would just hand something to him out of his pocket. Doubts Massu would get him anything at all considering they're not exactly close.

“I saw this out shopping and immediately thought it'd suit Yasu-kun,” Massu explains after a few seconds of silence.

Yasu's eyes widen in surprise and delight. He bounces up and down with excitement as he gently takes the necklace out of Massu's hand, holding it up to his eyes.

“For me? Really?” Massu nods and Yasu squeaks, “I love it!”

“Can you put it on for me,” Yasu spins around and hands Massu the necklace back over his shoulder. His fingers knocking into the other mans as he clumsy passes the jewellery to him. Massu puts the chain around Yasu's neck and leans in close to fix the clasp. His fingers gently brushing the warm skin of the blondes neck probably more then necessary, and so completely on purpose. Yasu turns back round to face him after a few moments, his cheeks ever so slightly red and his bottom lip in between his teeth.

“I knew it would suit you,” Massu says gently and meets Yasu's eyes. His own cheeks blazing as he scratches the back of his head in embarrassment. He clears his throat unnecessarily and forces out a laugh.

“Well, I'm meeting Tegoshi for lunch so I'd better go.”

“Mm,” He nods, “Thank you again Massu-kun,” and leans up to kiss Massu on the cheek lightly before ducking his head and making his way quickly down the corridor. Having been successfully made to feel like a high school girl with a crush.

With a smile big enough to blind a few Juniors on the way, Massu happily goes to meet up with Tegoshi who he plans on thanking profusely for giving such wonderful advice on wooing.

Stage fright

“Nakai-chan, what are you doing?”

The sixteen year old quickly goes to hide the numerous sheets of paper as the slightly older boy peers over his shoulder. In his haste, he knocks a few stray sheets onto the floor and stares in horror as Joshima picks one up.

Joshima's face softens and his heart melts as he reads the notes. Reminders as to what to say at gigs and on television shows as well as different topics to talk about.

“You could of told me how nervous you were at talking at these things,” Joshima looks up from the paper and smiles reassuringly at Nakai, “I would of been happy to help.”

“But it's embarrassing,” He whines and buries his head into his crossed arms on the desk. He moans for a few more moments before he feels a hand on his head. The comforting gesture brings a slight red colour to his face as he feels the heat from Joshima's palm seep through his hair to warm his head.

“Actually, I'd say it's pretty normal,” Joshima replies fondly.

“Well that doesn't mean it doesn't get me down,” Nakai shakes off Joshima's touch and unconsciously puts one of his own hands on his stomach. Clenching at his t-shirt and pressing into his abdomen as if in pain. Joshima looks on with interest.

“The stomach aches and when you collapsed last week, it's all because you've been feeling this depressed?” Joshima's smile drops, feeling genuine concern for the other boy as he everything seems to fall into place.

“See! That's embarrassing, so pathetic” Nakai snatches his hand away in favour of pulling at his hair in frustration.

“It is definitely not pathetic,” Joshima sits himself down next to Nakai in the spare chair at the small desk, picking up a pen and a notebook, “From now on, I'm helping you. There's no need to worry anymore ok?”

“You'll really help me?” Nakai pulls a face, as if he can't believe Joshima is willing to help let alone not about to make fun of him for acting like such a child.

“I can't have you making yourself ill now can I?” Joshima's reply is sincere.

Nakai smiles awkwardly and nods his head. He shuffles his chair closer to the other boy and leans in close to watch as he scribbles down notes, explaining as he goes. With little encouraging words and warm smiles thrown in every now and then. With Joshima's help, he thinks he could be amazing one day.

You can't be serious

When Mimura sees Taro pulling a rather reluctant boy towards him, he's mildly interested. Not many people, if any, can resist Taro's charming innocence. What does grab his interest fully is that the boy Taro is pulling along is, well, Taro. He is his complete double. Possibly a few inches taller and with slightly different hair but definitely the same person.

A few thoughts fly through Mimura's head. The loudest being, thank you God.

“Mimura-kun!” Taro finally manages to haul himself and the other boy over, stopping infront of Mimura.

“I'd like you to meet Ninomiya Kazunari. He's me!” Taro introduces Nino with pride and a blinding smile. Mimura is expectedly rendered speechless for a good few seconds.

The Taro double rolls his eyes and glances at Mimura's uniform, “Hmm, not my Sho-chan. I guess I really am stuck in your world.”

He settles his face into an expression somewhere between disgust and annoyance as he crosses his arms. Well that's not pretty, what a brat. He may look like Taro but he certainly isn't as obliviously sweet.

“Our world?” Mimura can't help but frown. What exactly is going on here?

“Taro was a character in a drama I played. I'm in an idol band called Arashi.” Nino says simply, glancing around.

“Isn't that amazing Mimura?!” Taro claps his hands together and leans in close.

Mimura begins to lean in but catches Nino grinning at him out of the corner of his eye. He gathers himself together and digs his hands deep into his pockets. Who knows where they'll end up if Taro gets any closer to him, “Well, no, not if what he's saying is true. We're drama characters.”

“Yeah well, you obviously exist. Maybe my amazing acting created a parallel universe or something,” Nino waves his hand in the air dismissively. Strangely calm and distinctly uninterested for a person who has just been transported into a drama.

“Who plays Mimura-kun?” Taro asks excitedly, entirely to caught up in this bizarre situation as if it isn't completely bizarre.

“My band mate, Sho”

“Oh, the guy you mentioned before,” Taro nods as if it all makes perfect sense.

Nino eyes Mimura and smirks, “I forgot how cute he looked when we were filming.”

“We're sleeping round yours tonight,” he declares suddenly and way too innocently. It doesn't suit him like it does Taro, but Mimura isn't an idiot and he certainly isn't adverse to what this Nino guy is implying. Not at all.

“Oh are you now,” Mimura plays into it, liking where this is heading.

“I think it would be best if we all stick together,” Taro chimes in. Nino looks at his double and breaks out into a huge grin. Swinging an arm round his shoulders.

“I'm so proud of myself,” he grabs onto Mimura with his free hand and pulls him in close, “Lets make this drama into what I wanted it to be like from the beginning”

Note: Before I forget, if anyone wants to prompt me, please feel free to! An object and pairing at the minimum so I'm not completely stumped, but any extra information is awesome. Expect short one-shots as I'm not really a multi-chaptered kind of lass and I usually can't stick to the 100 word limit for a real drabble. I suppose it depends on the prompt though ;) Anything goes, I'm a sucker for rare pairs so go nuts~
